DS XBOX PS2 and PC

Postby bobhatescomputers on Sat Oct 25, 2008 12:41 am

hi just recently installed this to my ds and it rendered the pyramid nicely and smoothly, i just have a few quick questions. i know u have alot planned, but from what i read u wanted this to possibly network all the systems together... this would be great! i would really love to share mostly media files from one system to the other or even stream audio/video from one that is loaded as a media server. also do i need a mod chip for the ps2 and xbox? i know both have ethernet ports, is it posible to locate them on my network and access them?
thanks
Bob

The short awnser is yes!

Sharing files will ofcourse be supported in the future. But much more: sharing recources will be supported at the same time, so your DS will be able to use the tv-out on your xbox/ps2, and more. But first I need a proper file-system, so I can start sharing those files and resources.

Do you need a modchip? Bricks-OS is homebrew like any other, so you will need some way to run homebrew (not covered on this forum). Also xbox is not supported, ps2 and ds are.

Why not just use fat, and use the filesystem of whatever was there before?

I will. But thats the file-system used by the disk itself. I meant the file-system used internally by Bricks-OS. The FAT driver will mount its partition to the internal file-system. And so will all other drivers "mount" their devices to the internal file-system.
